US Presbyterian church acknowledges gay marital relationship

With virtually 1.8 million members, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is the most significant Protestant team in the US to recommend the ceremonies.

The step was sustained by the church's leading legislative body in 2015, yet called for authorization from a bulk of the religions' local districts.

Yet the denomination has included an arrangement that no clergy would be forced to preside over a gay marital relationship or host such an event on church residential property. A number of districts have elected versus the rule modification.

Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) accepted the ordination of gay priests, seniors as well as deacons in 2011, which resulted in many conventional churchgoers to leave the denomination.
