Asian Gay Men's Bodies
Men's bodies have been progressively positioned under scrutiny in modern Western culture. Gay males have been determined as providing a better risk of body picture disruption than heterosexual men as a consequence of the aesthetically driven gay society. While there are few solutions available for gay guys with body picture concerns, there are also less offered for gay guys from non-English speaking cultures. This is a worry for young gay males coming from masculinised cultures in which living up to archetypal heterosexual manly suitables is a social household important. This paper reports qualitative research with 6 Asian gay men residing in Adelaide, Australia, aged 18-- 25. A life historic viewpoint supplies representations on the participants' bodies maturing gay in masculinised societies. The paper also highlights the men's current circumstances as they battle to come to terms with being Eastern gay men staying in a white, heterosexual, Anglo-Australian setting.
