    Rick Park's Gay Person, Fat Lady is one of 2 recipients (along with Josh Levine's Homemade) of the Mark Twain Reward for Comic Playwriting.

    The award belongs to the Michael Kanin Playwriting Honors Program, a series of honors presented each year by the Kennedy Center American College Movie Theater Festival, as well as comes with a $1,000 money honor, an expense-paid invitation to go to the National Event in D.C. April 16-20, membership in both the Dramatists Guild and the Playwrights' Center of Minneapolis, and also a specialist advancement residency-- usually two weeks in period-- with an organization\/entity to be established.
