After Institution Programs for Gay and Lesbian Young people
Provide after school programs as well as weekend break tasks for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and also wondering about young people in South Florida. Support groups, life skills coaching as well as recommendations to mental wellness.
South Florida's lesbian, gay, bisexual as well as transgered young people face multiple obstacles. They are at high threat for alcohol and also substance abuse, HIV and also STD infection, very early maternity, homelessness, anxiety, reducing or other forms of self-harm and also suicide. Over 600 low-income LGBTQ young people are taken part in services every year.
After school programs, weekend activities, support groups, life skills training, recommendations to psychological health and wellness services: specific and family members counseling, situation intervention, recommendations to support services: emergency situation housing, food stamps, ect.
In 2014 we successfully interfered with 8 youth to stop self-destruction. We additionally located housing for 8 homeless young people. Giving safe space for young people, enhancing self-awareness, self-confidence and also assisting youth develop a positive self-image saves lives!
