Young Boy Charged in Attack on Pupil Draped in Gay Satisfaction Flag
VALDOSTA, Ga. (AP)-- A Georgia teenager faces juvenile costs after he assaulted a student who was curtained in a gay pride flag in an institution lunchroom, authorities state.
Video of the occurrence was taped last week at Lowndes Secondary school in the south Georgia city of Valdosta. It reveals a male trainee charging throughout the snack bar and snagging the flag from the second child's back as he is up to the flooring. A 3rd pupil tries to press away the assailant, who slams the flag into a trash bin.
Lowndes Area Sheriff Ashley Paulk told The Valdosta Daily Times that the juvenile had been billed with disorderly conduct, simple battery and also disruption of a public center. Paulk claimed the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, which apprehends some juveniles implicated of misbehavior, was called.
Lowndes High School Aide Principal Rodney Green said the target was not literally harmed and that institution authorities investigated after discovering of the video clip.
