After Institution Programs for Gay and Lesbian Youth
Give after college programs and weekend break tasks for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and also wondering about young people in South Florida. Support system, life skills training as well as references to mental wellness.
South Florida's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgered youth face several challenges. They go to high threat for alcohol as well as substance abuse, HIV and also STD infection, very early pregnancy, being homeless, clinical depression, reducing or other forms of self-harm as well as self-destruction. Over 600 low-income LGBTQ young people are engaged in solutions every year.
After school programs, weekend activities, support system, life abilities coaching, referrals to mental health services: individual and family therapy, crisis treatment, referrals to support solutions: emergency housing, food stamps, ect.
In 2014 we efficiently intervened with 8 young people to prevent self-destruction. We also located real estate for 8 homeless young people. Supplying safe room for young people, boosting self-awareness, confidence and assisting young people create a positive self-image conserves lives!
