After College Programs for Gay as well as Lesbian Young people
Provide after college programs and weekend break activities for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and also doubting young people in South Florida. Support groups, life abilities mentoring as well as recommendations to mental wellness.
South Florida's lesbian, gay, bisexual as well as transgered youth face multiple obstacles. They go to high threat for alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STD infection, very early maternity, homelessness, clinical depression, reducing or other kinds of self-harm as well as suicide. Over 600 low-income LGBTQ young people are engaged in services yearly.
After college programs, weekend break tasks, support groups, life skills coaching, recommendations to psychological wellness solutions: private and also family members counseling, situation treatment, references to sustain services: emergency housing, food stamps, ect.
In 2015 we successfully intervened with 8 young people to avoid suicide. We also found housing for 8 homeless young people. Offering risk-free area for young people, enhancing self-awareness, confidence as well as helping youth establish a favorable self-image conserves lives!
