Frequent visors to the gay scene have had to fight agast velopment plans several tim over the last year to keep their ‘safe space.
We went out to the Gay Village to fd out why ’s so important to the cy’s LGBT muny that we keep this area alive. The performers 'We lerally have nowhere else we n go' Drag performers and events anisers Amber Cadavero and Pl Aleksandr shared the view that the Gay Village is their 'safe space' and they've been workg hard to keep the evolutn of the area full-swg. CJ, manager of Clonezone, said: "Nowadays people say we don't need a gay village but 's a safe and clive space where people have the eedom to hold hands and be wh who ever they want. "It's important for our store to be here bee people may not necsarily feel fortable visg a space that isn't as safe as the gay village.
