However, Guatemala also elected s first openly gay person to the Senate this year and Guatemala Cy hosts an annual, well-attend gay-pri para.

Antigua is generally gay-acceptg but not very gay “open” – ’s a low-key acceptance. Women would have no problem walkg down the street holdg hands (s part of the culture for women to do so) but for men, I would not remend - though, there are TONS of gay men Antigua.

But those are different blog posts – this is about gay thgs so here we go:Gay Bar/Club Scene: Frida’s Ati Upstairs Bar: Frida’s is a well-loted, touristy rtrant (wh credible margaras and a Sunday bnch to die for) but UPSTAIRS, at night, the rtrant turns lols dance club! Frida’s is Lbian-owned, not exclively gay but has very gay monthly events and weekly dance parti featurg techno, electronic and hoe mic wh an always open and welg atmosphere.

Whether man, woman, transgenr, straight, gay, sgle or upled, at Frida’s you n tly be yourself.

The Backyard Bar and Rtrant: When we first got to Antigua, I asked around the expat pag for remendatns on gay plac and several people said to me, go to the back porch of Backyard Bar – sound super sketchy to me. Red's Bar: we did not go to this bar and is a ltle odd to me bee on the surface seems like a straight sport's bar but we noticed they often advertise VERY gay events, hosted the Miss Gay Guatemala pageant and are listed as a gay men's bar on a few Guatemala pag. Vudú Bar: this bar is straight-owned but very gay wh their signature drk lled Unirn Pe and rabow-themed everythg.

Rtrant Scene:Antigua is full of great rtrants and a bunch of medcre on, too but here are a few fantastic rtrants where you n also feel fortable beg yourself– Frida’s, Angie Angie, Cact Grill, Osteria Franc, Caoba Farms Café, Samsara, Rabow Café (don’t let the name fool you, this is not a gay tablishment but ’s a very chill, progrsive environment)Tattoo Shop: Superr Tattoos – Miguel owner, artistIf you would be terted a Week-Long (LGBT) Group Travel event wh Antigua, where we arrange everythg but your flight, please shoot an email at and we’ll keep you the loop!

Guatemala Cy self has a thrivg gay scene wh several bars and clubs, a few mixed but maly terg to the boys.

GAY COSTA RI TRAVEL GUI

E-mail: Telephone: 5466-8676 NiraguaNiragua has a long, strange history wh gay rights, bouncg back and forth between plete illegaly to plete legaly. Currently, Niragua do not have anti-gay laws on the books but is still not a totally acceptg untry and has a long way to go before gay marriage or regnn of our relatnships. GranadaFilled wh expats, rtrants, happy hour specials and an unreal art scene, Granada is a pretty okay place to be gay.

When we were Granada, we saw a gaggle of drag queens walkg down the street together followed by a band of gay boys – clearly off to a party. We also heard of a bar lled Mi Terra, that is not “gay” but where the gays we didn't fd a ton of bars, we did fd a ton of gay-owned or gay-iendly hotels, though we only stayed one of them ourselv. Kekoldi Hotel: loted the historic area of downtown, not exclively gay but regularly advertis on gay travel webs.

THE BT COSTA RIN GAY RORTS

Tribal Hotel: gay-owned, exceptnally nice boutique hotel only two blocks om the ma square. ) We know there are two gay bars – we did not vis eher of them but here they are:Tabu - gets really good reviews, has weekly drag shows and events, dance bar Bar Q – i n't fd a webse for this bar but we were told s a nice neighborhood bar wh excellent dj's on the weekends.

San Juan Del Sur San Juan Del Sur do not have a gay bar but there are often gay “events” gog on at var hotels and bars by promoters.

The reputatn is served – dark, soft sand, great wav, unbelievable gay nightlife, however, (and also yoga, healthy rtrants, malls and hipster f) the place to be is San Salvador. They have all of your typil gay event parti and some really, really random lol live entertament – but a good time will be had, damn Sndavia is a bath hoe – word on the street is that this one is as much a club and bar as is a bathhoe.

VACAYA – GAY & LGBT+ CIS & RORT VATNS REIMAGED

Look, ’s a good time – you should check Salvador has a vibrant gay muny and they have had a gay pri para for several years: Ri. There is very much a live and let live attu there, more than any other Central Amerin untry we spent time even though gay marriage is still illegal.

Sometim, bee the mic everywhere is so good Costa Ri (and so, so gay) you wont know whether you are a gay bar, a straight bar, a rtrant or a walmart. You should jt check out the entire untry and feel pretty fortable beg yourself – but for foc – lets talk about the two big gay hotspots and a uple of honorable mentns:Manuel Anton Manuel Anton is the origal Costa Rin gay mec. The number of specifilly gay bars fluctuat – the first time we went, there were 5 and more recently, 3.

3 bars such a ty place says a lot about the place and those are only the exclively signated gay bars.

TOP 10 GAY AND LBIAN VATNS LAT AMERI

There are several other bars and rtrants that are gay hangouts and at one time, there was even a gay beach.

That beach has sce been purchased by a rort and is no longer accsible but you’ll fd plenty of gays on any of the beach beg their happy, openly gay Mogambo: This small neighborhood bar is part of and ss on top of Raphael Terraza’s rtrant.
