Manchter Gay Village is the gay quarter of Manchter, centred on Canal Street which ns along the Rochdale Canal. When the cloth tra cled the 20th century, the nal and the wareho along went to cle, and the area beme a cisg ground for gay men.

Canal Street ns along the Rochdale Canal wh a range of bars and rtrants and although hugely signifint there are other areas the village cludg Bloom Street, Richmond Street and Sackville Garns where there is a monument to Alan Turg who was a founr of morn putg who was treated humanely for beg gay. I have been visg the gay village sce late 1980’s and has always been a great place to vis, is pecially nice the summer months.
